A parent should drop their dancer at the drop off location in the lobby of the theater ONLY 15 mins before their scheduled recital start time, NOT EARLIER. Parents will not come into the holding room unless they are volunteering, thank you for understanding. DON’T SEND ANYTHING BACKSTAGE - JUST WHAT THE KIDDO NEEDS WITH THEIR DANCE SHOES ON… no IPADS/PHONES etc. Kids are safe and having fun! If your dancer has quick changes, you can walk her/his costumes back to the holding room, then please exit the theater in between dances to help them change.
DISMISSAL PROCESS - PLEASE, PLEASE READ: After each show, we will CLOSE THE CURTAIN and hold all dancers on stage. One parent that Ms. Amy or Ms. Melissa knows will come all the way backstage as soon as the show ends to pick up their dancer. This process seems busy, but it is extremely smooth and only takes 10 minutes. Please exit the stage as quickly as possible to expedite this process. You can then collect anything backstage and take photos with family and your dancer in the theater/lobby.

Each pod is separated from other pods with 6’ distance on all sides. All patrons must sit in the seat specified on their ticket. A google doc will go LIVE May 14th at 8:00pm by e-mail. Each order will be timestamped, and seats assigned. We will then give tickets to each family for seating at recital a week before. We will also sell tickets at the door the day of the show. Get tickets early! NO REFUNDS. The theater HOLDS 696 people social distanced seated in pods of 4, seats are taped off ect. So, if bringing 5 people one person will sit alone in a different pod. REMINDER GOOGLE DOC will go LIVE May 14th at 8:00pm for all shows. Tickets are $15.50 each under years old 3 can lap sit. SEE Q & A Document (below) about seating for 2021 Dance Recital.
T-shirts are $20.00 each and WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND that each dancer purchase one. We wear them in the annual North Royalton Parade which takes place in the summer… you can’t march without one. You do not need it for the dance recital. See sizing chart on the order form. Will also have ALL sizes at NRDA for sizing in front lobby. We are NOT adding names to back this year just to change it up 😊 NICER SHIRT!
Photos and Videos During Recital
You can step into the aisle to film your dancer or use your phone from your seat! I am begging you to be mindful of other spectators --- I am positive this will go smoothly. However- NO! NO! Flash photography! It is distracting to the dancers! We have NOT hired a professional videographer due to Covid restrictions.
We welcome back Elizabeth Glorioso Photography on Sunday, May 23rd . Please see LINK to sign-up up for a 10-minute private session at NRDA and bring all of your costumes. PLEASE SHOW UP ON TIME… this ensures we stay on schedule and everyone loves that! We will have order forms at the studio closer to photo day. You will be able to view them online and decide which to purchase later. If you purchase in advance, the photographer will choose best pose for the package. Pre-sale orders will be at a discount versus online ordering. Photos will be ready to pick up about 4 weeks after the recital at NRDA. An e-mail will be sent out when these are ready for pick up. We will have a sneak peek available online about 2 wks after photo shoot.
Tights, Costumes & Make-Up
We will be ordering students our house brand tights which are $12.00. Please see the size chart on the attached form for tight orders. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND OUR TIGHTS!!! Please just select on order form Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Lyrical or Acro. We will get you the correct tights. They will be ready for pick-up at NRDA 2 weeks before the show. If “wrappers” are listed as shoes- these are great shoes and run true to size. Make sure to purchase leather, if you can’t find this similar style is fine. Costumes will be sent home in early May (some have already gone home). Please take the costume out of the bag and hang on a hanger in a safe, dry place. Be sure to write your child’s name on the costume, shoes, and tights.
You may choose your dancer’s show make-up colors. The stage is a far distance from the audience, so make sure to apply enough make-up (base, eye shadow, mascara, blush, lipstick). Some classes may make specific recommendations. You will be notified if that is the case.
We will be using SIGNUPGENIUS.com online this year. Ms. Amy prefers less people doing a great job rather than tons of people doing nothing! But we still need help. More details to follow a week before the show. If you are volunteering backstage, you CAN’T SNEAK INTO THE THEATER during the show. (Sorry!) If you are volunteering, please clear with Ms. Amy regarding any dancer’s siblings you plan to take into the dressing rooms. Sorry dads…let’s stick to mom volunteers due to costume changes. We ask that parents stay out of backstage if they are not volunteering due to safety, security and privacy of dancers.
